Job Summary:
A Data Services Engineer Level II role is responsible for designing, implementing, and optimizing data infrastructure, databases, and data pipelines to support data-driven applications, analytics, and business intelligence initiatives. This role involves taking ownership of data engineering projects, collaborating with cross-functional teams, and providing technical leadership to ensure the availability, reliability, and performance of data services. The Data Services Engineer Level II plays a key role in advancing the organization's data strategy and capabilities.

You may be ideal if you have:

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Systems, or a related field.
  • 3 years minimum of experience in database administration, data engineering, or a related role.
  • Payment Integrity experience.
  • Strong understanding of database management systems and data modeling techniques.
  • Proficiency in programming languages and data processing frameworks.
  • Experience with cloud platforms and services.
  • Knowledge of big data technologies and tools.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and troubleshooting skills.
  • Strong leadership, collaboration, and communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines

Responsibilities:

  • Data Infrastructure Design and Implementation:
    • Design and implement scalable and resilient data infrastructure, including databases, data warehouses, and data lakes.

    • Evaluate and recommend technologies, tools, and frameworks to enhance data infrastructure and capabilities.

  • Data Pipeline Development and Optimization:
    • Develop, optimize, and maintain data pipelines to ingest, process, transform, and load data from various sources.

    • Implement automation and orchestration tools to streamline data pipeline workflows and operations.

  • Performance Tuning and Optimization:
    • Monitor, analyze, and optimize the performance of data infrastructure, databases, and data pipelines.

    • Identify and resolve performance bottlenecks, optimize queries, and fine-tune configurations to improve efficiency and scalability.

  • Data Security, Compliance, and Governance:
    • Implement and maintain data security measures, access controls, and compliance with data privacy regulations (e.g., GDPR, CCPA).

    • Establish and enforce data governance policies, standards, and best practices to ensure data quality, integrity, and reliability.

  • Collaboration and Leadership:
    • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including data analysts, data scientists, software developers, and business stakeholders, to support data needs and initiatives.
    • Provide technical leadership, mentorship, and expertise to junior data engineers and team members.
    • Communicate effectively with stakeholders at all levels of the organization to align on data engineering projects, priorities, and objectives.
