VICE PRESIDENT OF PRODUCT STRATEGY - HEALTHCARE PAYMENT INTEGRITY

The Vice President of Product StrategyHealthcare Payment Integrity is responsible for the strategic vision, innovation, team leadership, and collaboration of our internal teams, including operations, technology, sales, and marketing, to drive success of our healthcare SaaS technology product, Pareo.

Location: Nashville, Tennessee - Ideally

You may be ideal if you have:

  • 10+ years of experience in healthcare product management, with at least 5 years in leadership capacity, with a strong focus on payment integrity, claims management, or healthcare cost containment.
  • Deep understanding of healthcare payer systems, value-based care models, overpayment detection and prevention, and regulatory compliance in payment integrity.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop both short-term and long-term strategic product roadmaps that drive innovation and align with business growth objectives.
  • Proven experience working cross-functionally with multiple teams, including technology, operations, sales, and marketing, to deliver strategic product initiatives.
  • Demonstrated success in leading the maturity of a product strategy and organization, with a focus on scalability, standardization and market informed product design.
  • Proven ability to lead and conduct market research and showcase strong communication skills at presenting product vision both internally and externally.
  • Strategic thinker with excellent collaboration skills, capable of aligning diverse teams to execute a unified product vision.
  • Strong knowledge of healthcare payment integrity, including claims auditing, overpayment recovery, and FWA prevention, paired with the ability to integrate this expertise across departments.
  • Proven ability to communicate complex product strategies clearly and effectively to various organizational stakeholders.
  • Excellent leadership and team management skills, with a demonstrated ability to build and lead cross-functional teams in a fast-paced healthcare environment.
  • Experience in implementing formal product methodologies (Agile, Lean, Scrum) to drive efficiency and effectiveness in product management.
  • Analytical mindset focusing on leveraging data to drive product improvements and ensure alignment with customer needs and regulatory standards.
  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Business, Healthcare Administration, or a related field. An advanced degree such as an MBA or Master’s in Healthcare Administration is preferred.

Core Areas of Responsibility:

Strategic Leadership in Healthcare Payment Integrity:

  • Define and communicate the company’s healthcare payment integrity product vision and strategy, focusing on product evolution and aligning product growth with projected company revenue targets.
  • Lead product planning and roadmap development, ensuring close alignment with internal teams to support operational, technical, and business goals.
  • Ensure all product strategies are shared and integrated across departments, fostering clear communication of the product vision with executive leadership, sales, marketing, finance, and client-facing teams.

Product Strategy and Design:

  • Drive the continued product strategy maturity shifting the company’s focus toward creating scalable, standardized, and market informed products and solutions.
  • Implement product frameworks, focusing on user experience, automation, and data-driven insights to fuel customer acquisition, retention, and expansion.
  • Leverage feedback loops from existing clients to identify patterns that can be productized, ensuring that new features are designed to solve widespread challenges in the healthcare payment integrity market.

Product Development and Cross-Functional Collaboration:

  • Work closely with technology and engineering teams to develop innovative payment integrity solutions that leverage data analytics, automation, and artificial intelligence to improve claims accuracy and reduce unnecessary costs.
  • Collaborate with go-to-market teams to ensure that the product’s value proposition is effectively communicated to healthcare payer clients and that go-to-market strategies are aligned with customer needs.
  • Partner with operations and customer success teams to ensure smooth implementation of payment integrity solutions, identify operational bottlenecks, and aligning product enhancements with feedback from the field.

Formal Product Methodology and Processes:

  • Continue the implementation and expansion of Agile and Scrum product management methodologies to optimize product development cycles and ensure rapid iterations and improvements based on real-time feedback.
  • Lead the expansion of product analytics tools to continuously monitor product performance and user engagement, leveraging data to inform decision-making and prioritize feature development.
  • Create a culture of innovation and process efficiency by encouraging cross-functional teams to adopt Design Thinking and Lean UX principles.

Market Analysis and Customer-Centric Focus:

  • Conduct in-depth market analysis and maintain strong relationships with healthcare payers to understand their challenges and ensure that the product strategy addresses key industry trends and customer pain points.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to ensure that feedback from healthcare payer clients is integrated into the product lifecycle, improving customer experience and driving successful adoption of new solutions.
  • Ensure product strategies are responsive to regulatory changes in healthcare, aligning with compliance and legal teams to stay ahead of evolving payment models and legislation.

Cross-Functional Leadership and Communication:

  • Act as a key liaison between departments, ensuring alignment of product development efforts with broader company initiatives. Lead efforts to integrate product strategies across functions, enhancing team communication and collaboration.
  • Work closely with finance and executive teams to align product strategies with overall business goals, ensuring that budgets, resources, and timelines are optimized for maximum impact.
  • Regularly update key internal stakeholders and the executive team on product progress, challenges, and successes, fostering a culture of transparency and collaboration around product initiatives.

Team Leadership and Development:

  • Build and lead a high-performing product strategy team that works effectively across functional areas to execute product strategy and development payment integrity objectives.
  • Provide mentorship to product managers, ensuring they can collaborate with cross-functional teams and clearly communicate the product vision to internal and external stakeholders.
  • Foster an environment of continuous improvement, encouraging innovation while keeping communication channels open across all areas of the business.
